Erectile dysfunction (erectile dysfunction)
Erectile dysfunction occurs when the penis is continually unable to achieve or maintain an erection for satisfactory sexual intercourse. The causes can be organic, psychological or a mixture of both. Erectile dysfunction can also be an indication of cardiovascular disease.
The treatment options are varied. One option is the so-called PDE-5 inhibitors. They relax the smooth muscles in the penis and thus support the blood flow, which triggers the erection. Sexual stimulation is always required for the medication to work. As PDE-5 inhibitors can affect the circulation and some pre-existing conditions, it is advisable to consult a doctor.
Premature ejaculation (ejaculatio praecox)
Premature ejaculation means that orgasm or ejaculation occurs within the first minute of vaginal penetration. Scientists assume that around one in five men is affected by this, regardless of age. 1 Treatment options range from sex therapy and alternative therapy options to prescription drugs. Whether, when and how ejaculatio praecox should be treated also depends on the partners, sexual desires and satisfaction and should be discussed with a doctor (e.g. a urologist or sex therapist).
